Feels like home every time.
This was my fourth stay at this hotel in four years, and once again, it exceeded my expectations. I always travel with my family, and every visit truly feels like coming back home. From the moment you arrive, the front desk sets the tone with exceptional service. Elizbieta, Dorian, and Arletti consistently welcome guests with professionalism, warmth, and genuine smiles that make you feel instantly valued. At customer service, Lisandra and Mabel are always happy, attentive, and ready to assist with any issues that may arise during your stay. Their positive attitude and dedication truly make a difference. The hotel itself is impeccably clean and always maintained to the highest standards. No matter where you go on the property, the staff is friendly, approachable, and genuinely happy to help. For the third time, I was fortunate to have the same housekeeper, Magdelin, who once again provided outstanding room service. She takes great pride in her work and always goes the extra mile to make your room feel special. All the housekeepers are amazing — the thoughtful daily touches and surprises always bring a smile to your face. A special mention goes to Arnold Esposito at the buffet. He feels like a brother to me. He always greets you warmly and takes excellent care of your needs, effortlessly switching between English, French, and Spanish. His presence alone makes every meal more enjoyable. This hotel continues to impress me year after year, not only because of its cleanliness and comfort, but because of the incredible people who work here. They are the reason I keep coming back — and why I will continue to do so.

Changed to Iberostar Selection Varadero
Jan 20-30. I don't recommend 10 days in Cuba. Iberostar is a smaller but beautiful resort. Not much to do so we find we get very bored especially on rainy cold days like we have experienced most of this trip .Main Buffet staff are friendly, housekeeping staff are friendly. Room is nice, drinks are okay, some days Tang some days real Orange Juice, some days no Juice. Food is average for Cuban standards always something to eat but many times cold. Beach is beautiful but no good for snorkeling. Main pool is having huge issues, they are trying to fix a very severe leak, so currently only 2' of water in it, so no filter system which is kind of gross. They have been jack hammering daily trying to locate the issue but aren't having any success. This is the highest rated Hotel in Varadero, it is Spanish owned not Government owned like many of the others. So they seem to not be having too much issue with shortages. We haven't had any issue with mosquitoes. But bring bug spray. Most of the people are friendly no different from any other resort in Dominican, Mexico, or Jamaica. And probably a 3 star in any of those places would equate to here. Cuba is struggling the past 10 years and the decline in amenities and culture, and entertainment is astounding. We can't fix it by bringing toys etc, we need to support them but when you only get one vacation a year one really must consider all options. Tipping is a must, we saw soooo many people not tipping. These people rely on tips to survive. I would advise you to look into the current state of Cuba via Google or ChatGPT do not believe Government claims as we found the fear mongering by the Canadian Government to be false. If you're coming to Cuba I would recommend this hotel, but please keep expectations low. People in our building did have a large cockroach in their room again which is not uncommon in Cuba.
