Royal Kona Resort

Overall it was pleasant. However even though we specifically asked to be in the main building we spent two days in the Bay Tower! When we did get into the main building I had to complain 4 or 5 times aboutnthe man in a room nearby who smoked on the balcony. [Détails]

We had requested partial ocean-view and they knew there were 2 of us. When we arrived at midnite, the room they gave us only had one bed. I immediately requested for the same type but with 2 beds, which they provided on the next floor up. We had a lovely view of both ocean, courtyard, some mountains. Rooms are very basic with small fridge and coffee pot, and sink in kitchenette. Beds comfortable, has a private lanai but accessible to the rooms on either side because of architectural style. So at nite and when rooms no occupied you had to be sure to lock lanai doors. Convenient having bar/restaurant downstairs also with excellent bay view. Building obviously old but clean and well placed close to restaurants, open markets. It is right close to where the Iron Mountain marathon starts and ends. The resort probably has the best location on that side of the island. Price wise I would probably go back if all you require is a room to rest and sleep in. Our last day the two sinks backed up. The room was very old and dated. the maid service never cleaned the room everyday. service was lacking. The view was great from the room morning and night. [Détails]
