Holiday Inn Express Waikiki

The overall experience is wonderful. We appreciate being able to use the washroom and towels after checking out.Staff is friendly. Hotel is close to amenities and beaches though I'm not a beach person. However...I asked 2 different staff, one how to get to Diamond Head on foot and immediately was told "You can't". I asked why not. "Too far" Well I've done it before from diffferent hotels. Another told me "You can't" walk to Hanauma Bay coz it's a marathon distance.Have you done a marathon? I didn't tell her that I've done the camino de Santiago, hiked Palestine, hiked Turkey etc. but I took her counsel...walked from the hotel to Kilauea Ave and took the bus from there to Hanauma Bay. Well,one CAN walk along the highway because there is a sidewalk on both sides of the highway.....These people have not walked to these places and therefore they are NOT in the position to advice. They should show the route if they know and/or admit they are not familiar with the route(the first one admitted she didn't how to get there, so why say "You can't).....Breakfast was really appreciated. We arrived close to midnight and the staff was helpful to let us know where we could find an open restaurant and other items. We were pleasantly surprised to get a full breakfast every day. The hotel was under renovation but provided everything required. [Détails]
