One week at the Princess Kaiulani Hotel

, Victoria, BC
2022-11-10
Because of the pandemic and other issues, we hadn't travelled in about 5 years, One week at the Princess Kaiulani was a gentle entry back into international travel for us. The weather was beautiful, it was easy and very low stress, [Détails]

Les points forts
Great location, central and close to beach. Very nice open, airy lobby and nice pool area. Staff were great, helpful. We liked the library and reading area. Good value
Les points faibles
We would have liked to have access to local Honolulu daily newspaper. We missed the Hawaiian musical entertainment that used to be provided in the courtyard.

Staying at Sheraton Princess

, Vancouver, BC
2012-03-12
As part of the Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) Group, there is a certain expectation one would expect from a name brand hotel like the Sheraton, especially since it is promoted as a Category 5 hotel. The same category goes for Sheraton Waikiki.

My overall experience was expected. I am very happy with the services provided and for the price I paid for my trip, it was well worth it.

The room was exceptionally clean and was beyond what I expected. Our cleaning lady was very courteous and tended to our needs even after we tell her we didn't needed her cleaning services. They went above and beyond.

Some staff were a tad bit disappointing. Upon arrival, the room safe was not working. It wasn't resetted properly. I called front desk to call up security. I expected them to come right away but I had to wait almost 20 minutes and had to call twice. Security finally arrived and they were sent to the wrong room. How is the miscommunication possible? I do not know. But once everything was fixed (mind you there is a pamphlet to allow us to reset safe ourselves but it was all in Japanese and not in English).

The pool was fantastic! Lots of lounge chairs.

In terms of tours, there is a tour desk directly in front of the entrance as you enter the hotel. Open only during the morning to the afternoon, lots of pamphlets with different tours available. Prices are reasonable.

Overall experience was excellent. I would stay here again. [Détails]
