We stayed here with 4 small children. It was a very small room with not much room to move around but there were enough beds with our youngest sleeping in a playpen. We made it work. We wanted something Disney but didn't want to pay outrageous amounts so this resort was a little more budget-friendly, but still offered the perks that we were looking for; Disney bracelets that opened our room door, allowed us to pay for things purchased in the Disney stores and restaurants, and were used for the photopass experience; it also offered free boat transportation to Downtown Disney (now called Disney Springs); and it still gave us the Disney experience we wanted for our kids. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I did order some items for our children as a surprise in the room upon arrival, but they had not been delivered to the room (we did not check in early). They got some items mixed up and things that weren't there that I had ordered and paid for, some of which were for our daughter's birthday, but they did try to compensate by offering other items. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. Overall the resort was nice, although huge, and the staff were friendly, and we feel we basically got what we paid for. We would likely choose a different resort next time but that's not to say we would never stay here again; it is hard to find a place big enough for a larger family (we have 5 kids now) and something that won't burn a hole in our wallet (as much as other Disney resorts). The strong points
The ferry to Disney Springs was neat, the kids liked that. Ability to pay for things with the wristband is handy.
The weak points
Parking wasn't great, no matter where your room is you have to walk a ways with all your luggage to get to your vehicle because of the way the resort is laid out.

We had a magical time at Port Orleans Riverside. We had a group of three, for two of us in our party, it was our third time staying there, and for one person in our party it was their first time. The staff are friendly and helpful, the scenery is beautiful, the bus service is timely and we love the water taxi to Downtown Disney. We stayed in the themed Royal Guest Rooms in Oak Manor. The hotel was okay but the food was quite terrible and extremely processed. I am glad that I opted out of the dining plan. As we had 3 road race mornings in a row (and needed to nap upon returning to the room), our room was not serviced for 3 days in a row. For what you got, I felt like the price is a bit high. [Details]

Excellent accommodations, spacious room, excellent housekeeping service. Fantastic sit-down restaurant. The dining hall was good, however, the menu never changed, compared to Pop Century resort where menu changed daily. [Details]

The grounds are beautiful, the room was clean with different orgamies each day. Transportation either by boat to downtown Disney or buses are reliable. Be prepared to have a long wait checking in but after that the Concierge are great. We should have taken the meal plan. Expensive to eat or drink on site. Pools are crystal clear and warm. Hot tub is a great meeting place to relax after a long day. I would go back again and highly recommend it. [Details]

We had a great stay at this resort! The location to the rest of Disney was excellent! A hotel in true Disney fashion. [Details]
